From the site analysis and photos, a base plan is created that includes existing buildings, hardscape elements, and vegetation to remain. At the conceptual planning stage, our scaled, hand drawn proposed design solutions are presented to you. This plan combines the information gathered from the design evaluation, our personal meeting, and the existing site analysis. We take into consideration the architectural style of your home as well as potential for circulation, screening, directing views, and defining ‘outdoor rooms.’ Walls, steps, fences and overhead structures may also be incorporated in the plan at this time. Rather than get into the detail of specific plants or hardscape materials, our discussion focuses on the shape and scale of spaces and layout of planting beds. As this is a preliminary design, your input will determine if any revisions are needed.
